Bunny Blessings

We spent the last few weeks the girls have been doing what they do best...

Danika, my artist is always coloring...

and Haddie is always eating:)

or "reading" books (every. single. one.)

Danika had a play date with a great, long lost friend come for a visit. Allie used to go to daycare with Danika from the time they were a few months old until last Summer when they moved to Minnesota. They had SO much fun together!

And mid-Allie visit, Haddie lost her spunk and threw up her lunch. I thought it was maybe a fluke, as she's been known to lose her lunch and be fine (weird, I know) BUT, as we were packed and ready to go for an overnight adventure to visit Mike, Lori and Miles, she threw up ALL over her carseat. (Major sad face- for her, for moms hands that tried to catch it, and for her car seat that dad had to clean:/)
So for two full days and nights, my poor little spitfire, had not an ounce of happiness or spunk in her, and was vomiting non-stop. I felt so helpless, especially when she'd say "No puke, no puke Mommy!" as she was about to vomit:(
Poor Girl.
I had to take a day off work to stay home with her and other than going to the doctor and pharmacy, this was my view the whole day...

...BUT, have no fear, She made a good turn around mid-week and is back to her happy self !
(well, for the most part...still a bit of a diva at times when she doesn't get her way, but I'm thinking that's not going away anytime soon, as we're just approaching the terrible twos and still have the horrible three's to come!)

Since we all had off school on Friday, Danika's been wanting Chloe to come over, so they had a sleepover at our house. It was fun for all 3 girls and to my amazement, Danika was brave and actually slept the whole night in the basement bed with Chloe!

Saturday AM it was off to the farm for Easter fun. We had a great lunch, egg hunt, and cousin time:)

The kids listening to the directions from Grandma Lynn before they dash outside to find eggs (they look thrilled to have to wait, right?!?!)

The cousin crew...

I stuck with Haddie to find eggs and Daren went with Danika
Haddie was fun to watch this year....so excited to find the eggs, just like the big kids:)

Sunday Morning came and it was time to find Easter baskets!

Hadster, diving right into her new chapstick and shades from the Easter bunny!

*Can you believe I didn't get one good family or girls picture in their Easter dresses? I think Auntie Lisa or Lori will have one to share, so eventually, maybe that will come:) Bad mama!

Enjoying more family time on this beautiful afternoon

We are so grateful for our many blessings and of course remember them with thanks especially on Easter, and everyday.
We hope you had a blessed day too!

Signs of Spring? Hopefully!

Happy, beautiful Sunday!
Here's a glimpse at what we were up to...
We ventured to Govin's lambing barn on Saturday with Auntie Lori and Miles.
It was a nice sunny day, so of course everyone had the same idea as us, and it was CrAzY with people!

Miles LOVED the animals:)

Haddie on the other hand- did NOT care to touch, much less hold any animals!

Danika also got a pony ride- wasn't nearly as fun as the ride 2 years ago when we came though! They had larger horses that she rode and they would wonder in a field for about 5-10 minutes! Now, it's bit more of a 'county fair' set up with the miniature ponies hooked to a chain for 2 minutes:/ And I think it was double priced! BUT Danika still enjoyed it... so happy kid, happy life!

She's been working on a reward chart and she choose Coldstone when she earned her 5 stickers this week...She surprised me by veering away from her usual pink/strawberry ice cream and went with the tangerine sherbet with sprinkles:)

We finished off the week with good times with good friends... the kiddos watched Frozen upstairs and the grownups got the basement space for the Badger game!

Way to go Big Red...Final 4 here we come:)

We hope you enjoyed the beautiful weather as much as we did today!
It's really a mood changer to open the windows and play outside:) We all were a little bit happier and refreshed!

Time Flies!

Has it REALLY been 2 months? How can it be that winter seems as though it has gone on for.ev.er. and yet 2 months have quickly slipped by?!? As the Sunday's kept happening I kept thinking about blogging....and then the thought went away and I didn't:/
So anyway, I'm here. We're good. Let's get on with it....
We've had a lot to celebrate lately, as both girls have had birthdays!

Oldest first, Ms. Danika Jolee turned 4 on February 14th!
This girl puts the "queen" in drama queen. She has a heart of gold, but the definite sassiness of an independent soul. She LOVES: Her blankie, her daddy (and even her mom and sister a bit these days;), drawing and anything arts and craftsy, FROZEN music and movie, mac 'n cheese, dancing and singing, and her latest and greatest is playing pretend. She always has enjoyed it, but lordy does she have a wild imagination these days! I'm always asking "how did you think of that?" or "Do you pretend that at daycare?". Some days she's a doctor, others a restaurant chef or a princess. Whatever she is, she puts her whole self into character and expects nothing less from mom and dad when participating too:) Lately she's had a few imaginary friends. It brings back wild memories of myself as a kid. I had 3. No joke, they were my BFF's! Friend, Jenny, and Cousin. (Real original names, right?) Well, Danika has Azul and Rojo. (Yep, Spanish colors:) Thanks, Dora)

Everyone says it and I'm sure I've said it many times already, but time goes SO fast. How did my little 6 pound peanut turn into this amazing soul? Makes me sad, proud, happy and emotional all the same!

Seriously, growing TOO fast!

Our arts and crafts gal...

Gotta love rainbows and flowers:) Her current drawing obsession

And now, onto Ms. Hadster...
Haddie Grace celebrated her 2nd birthday last Sunday, March 16th.

If Danika is a drama queen, then Haddie is a firecracker!
Haddie has MUCH more extreme emotions, but it's usually a quick explosion and it's done and she's over it and onto the next thing. She is much more fearless, but also more of my cuddler and snugglebug too.
...and she's quite mischievous!
(Notice the cute, innocent smiley face peeking through the bed that she colored ALL over with black crayon! Disclaimer: Dad was in charge this night:)

...and she's quite content chillin' out on the TOP of her crib

There are some many times this girl is lucky she is so stinkin' cute!

Haddie LOVES: Her babies, smiling, eating, reading books, talking NON stop and doing pretty much whatever her big sis does! She does NOT like being told "no"!
Some of my absolute favorite things she says right now:
"It's special to me!"
"Kaka" for Danika
"SEE you mommy!" (when she wants up or on my lap)

Other than birthday celebrations, we've been trying to enjoy this horrid winter as much as it is actually possible. When the weather got above zero, we headed outdoors!

Danika came with me to an evening skating party hosted at my school and she got to try to ice skating! She wasn't so sure about it at first, (didn't help the ice skates were a bit big!) Eventually she got somewhat comfortable and enjoyed herself...as long as she was holding on to something or someone...

Dad braved the weather with the girls and made a sort of snow fort

and finally, I think I'm caught up to this week! It was my Spring break so the girls and I had fun at home together, and venturing out to the library, children's museum, and open gym gymnastics. We even brought dad lunch one day and managed to have 1 afternoon (out of 9!) that were warm enough to get outside and do chalk and bikes! I think (fingers crossed) that Spring with be here sooner than later!

Below is a video of Danika trying out her new Pink-a-liscious bike that Santa brought for the 1st time outside! It's not too exciting, but it's pretty cute when she turns around and gets going... you can see and hear Haddie in the background cheering for her saying "Yeah, Danika...You can do it!" LOVE them!

Happy almost Spring!
Love,
The Dummer Crew

Happy New Year!!!

Well, 2014 is off and running!
I know, I really have been the worst blogger the last few months:/ Hopefully there's at least a few people still reading this:)
We had a hectic crazy, and absolutely amazing and fun December!

Christmas was so much fun for Danika this year...she's at the perfect age where the excitement and magic of it all was at it's prime!

No matter what the present, she loved it and gasped every time she got the wrapping paper off:)

This face is hard to figure out in a picture...she was mid sentence when I snapped it. She's in the middle of saying "Oh my gosh I love it!!!" :)

Haddie had fun too, especially just tearing the paper off. Every thing she opened she wanted to be taken out of the box to play with (or just sit next to her) Every. Single. Thing!

After all the Christmas fun, Daren and I were off for a relaxing week away with Lori & Mike while the Grandma's were in charge of the kiddos! We went to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico for 5 nights while we had some time off school.
After the wasted half-day time-share talk, and thunderstorm day.... oh, and the swollen face and black eye, it was a fun trip.
Really, the 1st 2 days had their ups and downs, but we were in good company and overall it really was a great, amazing, relaxing trip. I would go there again in a heartbeat!

Miss this daily view!

We hope you all had a wonderful holiday with family and wishing you all the best for a positive 2014!

Love,
The Dummers
